Everything is quiet for a long time and this knitting thing seems pretty simple, just to lure me into a false sense of security. And then: bang.

Ordering yarn and not checking yardage? Rookie mistake, my friends.

A bit of stash-diving held the cure. I was able to kill two (three?) birds with one stone, euphamistically speaking — reduce the stash, knit up a lovely Yuletide gift, and make it even warmer for the cold-dwelling recipient by some judicious double-stranding. (This one is for my adopted grandmother.)
